According to a recent interview with British comedian Russell Brand, transcendental meditation and got him through a public divorce from pop star Katy Perry as it allowed him to ‘tune in with a higher level of consciousness’ and has lead to him affirming that he is happier than ever before.

The Transcendental Meditation (TM) began in India in 1956 set up by a yogi known as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, it is a simple meditation based on repeating mantras in an attempt to transcend mental activity into a higher understanding of the full potential of life.

Russell Brand is not the first celebrity to express his enthusiasm for TM, the Beatles in the 1960’s and 70’s visited Mahesh's ashram and explored transcendental meditation as a means of attaining happiness and contentment.

Kundalini recognised as the is another favourite of Russell Brands, he has attributed his psychological and emotional revitalisation after his divorce to his daily practice and yogic way of life.
